Arina Anashkina

Arina, four years old, was born prematurely with bilateral fetal pneumonia and spent her first month of life in the hospital. She was discharged home but fell ill again and taken to the regional hospital. She was diagnosed with an aneurysm, an abnormal protrusion of the thinned portion of the heart, and an atrial septal defect. Surgeons at the Tomsk Cardiac Center successfully operated without the need for open heart surgery.
