Vika Khramova

Vika, thirteen days old, has pulmonary atresia, a congenital birth defect of the pulmonary valve controlling blood flow to the lungs that did not form at all.

She had had an urgent operation a few days prior to the fifth medical mission to Nizhny Novgorod, and was on a ventilator in the ICU where she required to be resuscitated. She had an emergency re-operation, where the previously placed shunt was narrowed stabilizing and rebalancing her circulation.
